Marketing Monday: B2B Digital Marketing Trends

Here at Schools & Agents we experience a lot of business-to-business action. So, we've put together some digital marketing trends which we feel can help all of you here. Yes, we're talking to you: school representatives, agents and service providers in the international education industry.

1. Increased focus on personalization: Personalization has been a buzzword in digital marketing for several years, but it's still a top trend. If part of your target audience is a business, then you should be using more data-driven approaches to create personalized experiences. Think of what agents would want to hear from you if you represent a school or which of your services would be interesting for an agent if you're a service provider!

2. More use of video content: Video marketing has been growing in popularity for several years, and it's likely to continue in 2023. Some suggestions on how you can use video content include demos of the services you offer, student/parent testimonials, course explainers and live stories during excursions or an important activity happening in your company.

3. More focus on customer experience: It's not the first time we highlighted the importance of creating a positive customer experience. What do we mean by this? Well, no matter which part of the international education sector you work in, customer service training will always contribute to a better customer experience. Making your website more user-friendly is another important aspect, especially when you're looking to work with international partners or do business online.

4. The growth of influencer marketing: Influencer marketing... you've heard this before and there have been tons of discussions on whether they're useful for the international education industry or not. Our advice is to stick to industry influencers; individuals who have a good following amongst international agents and students, for example. We all operate in a very niche sector so keep in mind that the concept of quality over quantity (in terms of followers) is really important here!

5. Increased use of social media: It comes as no surprise that social media is still an important part of B2B marketing, and it's not going anywhere in 2023. Education providers can use channels like LinkedIn to connect with agents, and vice versa. Facebook and Instagram can be used to showcase what you offer and what your end users like about your business.

These are just a few examples of the B2B digital trends that should form part of your 2023 marketing strategy. Why should they? You might ask. And the answer is very simple... if you want to remain competitive you need to be online and you need to be putting your energy into the right digital channels.
